Founders' Day gallops to Tonasket May 27-28


A pair of Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association rodeos, a parade and street vendors are just a few of the activities planned May 27-28 for the 86th annual Tonasket Founders’ Day celebration.


Events begin at 7 p.m. Friday, May 27 at the Tonasket Rodeo Ground with the first performance of the Founders’ Day PRCA rodeo. Admission will be charged.


Concessions and a beer garden will be available.


A street dance with music by the Night Riders is planned on Third Street in the evening.


Saturday’s events begin at 7 a.m. with the annual fun run in Chief Tonasket Park.

A parade along Whitcomb Avenue follows at 10:30 a.m. Classic cars will be on display at the North Country Cruise-In.


Organizers said street vendors are planned throughout the day in town.


Effie Lea Wilson will be honored during the parade as grand marshal.


Events wrap up with the second running of the Tonasket Founders’ Day rodeo at 7 p.m.
